Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives you the right to request information held by public authorities.  The Act provides a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities, subject to certain exemptions, and imposes obligations on these authorities as to how they should respond to written requests for information.

Publications

Libraries NI is committed to make information available to the public as part of its normal business activities.  Details of this commitment and guidance on charges can be viewed in the Information Commissioner’s Model Publication Scheme. The types of information Libraries NI will make available routinely can be viewed in the Definition Document for the Model Publication Scheme for Northern Ireland Non Departmental Public Bodies on the Information Commissioner’s website.
