Genealogy Workshop for Beginners

This workshop on Wednesday 22 October between 10.30am - 12.30pm is an introduction to family history research, designed for those who are just starting out. A Local Studies representative from the SEELB Library Service will be available in Newcastle library to advise you on how to begin your research and to help you discover how to use the internet when tracing your family tree. The event is open to everyone but places are limited, so booking is essential to secure a place.

“This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who is curious about where they come from and wants to find out about their family roots. A member of the Local Studies staff will be able to advise you regarding the types of sources, libraries and archives, and the use of online resources, including the LDS Family History website, the PRONI website, and the Ros Davies Genealogy website for County Down;"

Mary Bradley, Local Studies librarian for the SEELB
