Press Release, Family event with Irish poet Tony Curtis at Colin Glen Library

Colin Glen library welcomes Irish poet Tony Curtis on Thursday 7 August 2008 at 3pm for an afternoon of family poetry, music and chat as part of Féile an Phobail.

This Dublin born poet has been awarded the Irish National Poetry Prize and is a member of Aosdana, the Irish Academy of the arts.  He has recently returned from touring his poetry in the USA. Bicycles, famines, ghosts and grannies, Tibetan Buddists, Beckettian sighs are all revealed with a rare and loving simplicity in his poetry collections.

Tony was very happy to accept the invitation to perform in Colin Glen library during this year’s August Feile, which marks the twentieth anniversary of Feile an Phobail.  Branch Library Managers Diane McCready and Pat Hesketh are delighted to join in the celebration with an event that promises to be one of the highlights of the festival.

Everyone is welcome to this free event. For further information or to book a place please contact the library in the Dairy Farm Centre on 9043 1266.
