Libraries throughout Northern Ireland invite YOU to take part in an exciting One Book Project.
The idea is to get thousands of people across Northern Ireland to read the same book ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’ by John Boyne.
‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’ is a story about a nine year old boy struggling to understand what is happening around him in Auschwitz during World War II and this book was chosen as it appeals to all age groups.
People of all ages (from children to senior citizens), schools, community groups and celebrities will be getting involved in the One Book Project. Events will be held to celebrate this project and people will be encouraged to think and talk about the book and the issues it raises.
To borrow a copy of this book in libraries and mobile libraries for free, call into your local library today or reserve a copy at www.ni-libraries.net
