Housebound Users

The Housebound Reader Service is available to those who are

  • Unable to visit their local library

  • Caring for someone who is housebound

The library service will make house calls and will try to tailor the service to the user’s interests or needs.

In some cases relatives, friends or neighbours may be able to use the library on behalf of the housebound reader.  If this is the case the library is willing to provide any help it can, from leaving suitable books aside for collection, to assisting in the choice of materials.

You can apply to join the Housebound Reader Service by –

  • Contacting your local library

  • Filling in the Housebound Reader Application form

If you are visually impaired there is a range of services available
